Use a daily multi-vitamin to help control your acne. Good nutrition and proper vitamin and mineral levels help lead to clean and clear skin and if you are not receiving these, you could be dealing with severe acne. Taking vitamins also helps your body fend off bacteria, another contributor to acne.

If you have a breakout, resist the urge to scratch or "pop" any pimples. This could cause an infection, scaring, or maybe even both. Try over-the-counter medications, creams, and astringents first. If your acne worsens, consider making an appointment with a dermatologist who can suggest something more effective.

You can prevent acne by making sure that your cell phone is clean and disinfected. We all put our phones directly to our cheeks when we talk and we don't want all that extra bacteria transferring from our cell phones to our faces. If not cleaned, this will cause instant pimples.

If you wash your face in your bathroom sink, make sure that it is cleaned regularly. Bacteria, grease, soap scum and lime scale can all accumulate on a sink. These contaminants are then transferred onto your face each time you wash it and can irritate the skin and cause further acne outbreaks.

To help make sure you don't suffer from acne breakouts, you should exfoliate your skin. When you exfoliate you are removing the build-up of dead skin cells, which are one of the causes of acne breakouts. A daily exfoliation will keep your skin soft and smooth, brighten your complexion and make your skin less prone to breakouts.

When you are in the shower and washing your hair, tilt your head back when cleaning off your shampoo. Shampoo can sometimes stick to your face after your shower, irritating your skin and creating more acne. Alternatively, you can wash your hair in the sink to establish more control and eliminate the soap from hitting your face.

If you wear a lot of make up, you may need to wash your face twice. This ensures that your pores are cleansed. If you keep your pores clean, you can prevent acne from forming on your skin and you can keep your face looking healthy all the time.

Drinking soy milk as opposed to regular cow milk will cut down on breakouts and acne. Dairy milk has natural hormones which aggravate oily skin and as numerous studies have shown, converting to soy milk will improve your complexion as well as provide you with many other health benefits.

Consider investing in expensive jojoba oil to help reduce acne. Many people have seen results from using this product because it is believed to slow the body's creation of oil. Jojoba oil is not technically an oil so it will not add to the problems of oily skin. It is a bit costly, but the benefits may be worth it.

As you can see, there are many household products that can help with your acne. But, there is no magic pill and if you do not do your part and develop healthy habits, your acne cure may be just a dream. With healthy habits and some at-home remedies, you can have healthy skin again.
