How To Get Control Of Your Acne

When applying acne medicine, cover your entire face instead of just addressing visible problem areas. Other acne may be forming under your skin that you cannot see. Applying the medication over your entire face can prevent blemishes that cannot yet be seen. Remember to put it on your forehead, too.

Protect your skin from acne by drinking lots of water throughout the day. As a general rule, try to drink a glass of water at least a minimum of eight times a day. Without sufficient water, the body starts to get dehydrated. A lack of hydration will hinder the shedding of dead cells in your skin, thereby creating a flare-up of acne conditions. These dead skin cells can also exacerbate acne.

Keep your face as clean as possible, especially in hot weather or if you are exercising. If you find that you cannot wash your face when you are away from home, take some facial cleansing wipes with you. You can easily clean up the bacterias and impurities. Do not use wipes as a daily routine in the place of your cleaner.

When researching the causes of your breakouts, consider the medications you're taking. There are many prescription medications that can contribute to the formation or worsening of acne; this is especially true of drugs that contain hormone-altering ingredients. You should talk to your doctor about your medication if you think it is causing acne.

Stress can cause acne to be more pronounced, so always try to stay happy and stress free. Your acne will just get worse if you worry about every pimple.

Chamomile tea also soothes the skin, making it a gentle and effective acne treatment. Simply take a cooled tea bag and place it on the problem area to reduce redness and swelling within a few hours of use.

For an easy home remedy for treating acne, try a mask made from one part lime juice and one part ground nut oil. Mix it together and spread it over any skin that shows blemishes. It will help heal them and stop acne from resurfacing.

Getting rid of potential skin irritants can reduce the number of breakouts you experience. Avoid unnecessary touching of your face, especially if you have dirty hands. Pillowcases collect oil and debris in the fabric, so wash them often to help keep irritation to a minimum.

Wrap up an ice cube, place it in a towel, then put it on your skin for around 20 minutes. Ice can reduce the swelling and redness associated with badly infected pimples. It can also numb any pain from the spot. Ice is also natural and will not irritate your skin like a chemical product would.

Avoid mixing different acne treatments together. It may seem logical to throw every acne cream you own on the problem skin at the same time. Using too much cream can easily have the opposite effect, since they contain harsh chemicals that aren't good for your skin in large amounts.

It can seem like your acne is never going to go away. External factors also play a role; mites, hay fever, and other allergens can affect your skin. Last but not least, avoid stress as much as you can. When you are stressed, your body will produce hormones that can lead to skin irritation.
