Good Advice For Dealing With Your Acne

By Steve Ian

Most people strive to have beautiful skin. In this article, you will find useful tips on how to get rid of your acne and prevent it from coming back.

One very good way to reduce acne is to drink plenty of pure, filtered water. Make sure to keep hydrated daily by drinking plenty of water. At a minimum, 6-8 glasses are required each day. These may block your skin pores, which may lead to more acne.

Never pop a zit. If you have acne, avoid the urge to pick at your blemishes. This will only make them worse. You also risk the possibility of scaring if you do not allow it to heal naturally.

Your acne can be worsened by eating too much meat and dairy products. Dairy and meat can contain certain hormones that will negatively affect your skin, so it's a good idea to cut down on them.

Blemish sticks are a good way to conceal pimples. This stick can help you find the exact areas that need covered up. Blemish sticks are less likely to block your pores than concealer.

Salicylic acid is a common ingredient found in skin care products that fight acne. Any skin care product that contains salicylic acid (otherwise known as beta hydroxy acid), causes the skin to shed its cells more quickly.

Many people think that sun exposure can help acne, but this isn't always true. The sun could even worsen your acne since it triggers more oils to be released by your skin. Other problems such as wrinkles can also be worsened by the sun, and consistent exposure has also been shown to possibly cause skin cancer.

Only put natural skin products on your face when you have acne. Harsh chemicals in some products can cause skin irritations. The strong chemicals in certain skin products have the possibility of taking away more oil than is necessary. This may make your skin have to work harder to create more oil, which creates more acne.

Stress can strongly affect your acne, so do what you can to stay relaxed and stress-free. Worrying too much about every blemish will just make your acne worse.

Always dress in the correct manner for the season, and wear clothes crafted from natural fabrics. With a combination of increased humidity or extreme temperatures and man-made fibers that keep heat and sweat trapped close to your skin, acne outbreaks can occur for many people. Physical stress from excessive heat can worsen acne, but wearing the right clothes will help.

A great way to heal pimples is through the use of Neosporin. Redness and irritation also respond well to the cream's ingredients. Use a Q-Tip to apply the Neosporin. If you apply too much, let it sit on the skin for eight to ten minutes and wipe the excess off with a clean tissue.

If you are regularly having breakouts, wash your face more frequently each day. Wash your face before bed and after waking up to reduce breakouts.

You can control your acne better if you reduce your stress level. Stress can cause hormonal outbreaks that can wreak havoc on your health, and are especially bad for your skin. Reducing stress via exercise, meditation or listening to your favorite tunes a few minutes daily can provide you with many benefits. By keeping your stress levels manageable, you may find that your acne has become more manageable, too.

Learn to moderate your consumption of alcohol. An occasional drink is fine, but excessive consumption of alcohol can aggravate your acne.

Age is not a factor in determining who has acne. It is important to develop a skin care regimen that is both healthy and effective in giving you the flawless skin that you seek.
