Find Joy When You Look In The Mirror With These Acne Tips

By Steve Jones

Acne is a extremely common problem, but there are ways to fight it. There are a number of things that cause or exacerbate acne breakouts and, of course, for most people it is a rite of passage in their teenage years. There are treatments to help alleviate acne outbreaks or eliminate acne entirely. By reading the following article, you will learn many tips to deal with acne.

Keep your hands from around your face because they are full of dirt and oil that can clog the facial pores. Your pores absorb the oils easily and will lead to more blemishes.

Keep your face as clean as possible, especially in hot weather or if you are exercising. To make cleansing easier while you are out and about, always keep a package of facial wipes with you. These will wipe away your basic bacteria. It isn't necessary to use a new cleanser every morning.

You should always avoid popping, or picking at, acne pimples. The desire to pick and pop spots can be hard to avoid, but you need to realize that by doing this you are just spreading the bacteria within the acne, which will cause more blemishes. It can also cause nasty scabs and scars that are harder to cover up than the zit is itself.

Even if you are tempted to, do not pick at your acne or pop your zits! Use a treatment cream instead. If you try to pick your acne, you will end up with infections. You may also cause discoloration in your skin when you pick at acne.

Mix one part ground nut oil with one part lime juice and use it as a mask to treat your pimples. Be sure to blend it completely and then apply to your skin to prevent acne.

Rid yourself of acne on your body. Acne on the body can be made worse with sweating; make sure to use a medicated soap, and shower right after exercise.

Organ health affects acne! Keep your bodily organs healthy. When they are healthy it lessens your chance of developing acne issues.

You are more prone to acne breakouts if you sleep on dirty pillows. The reasons for this are clear. Think about your face rubbing against this all night. To avoid continual contamination, consider using a fresh pillowcase every night.

Whenever possible, avoid subjecting yourself to stressful environments. Stress doesn't necessarily lead to acne, but it can worsen an already advanced case of acne.

Try to minimize skin irritations to prevent acne breakouts. Don't touch your face unnecessarily, especially if your hands are dirty. Change your sheets and pillowcases often. They can have built up dirt and bacterias that can irritate the skin.

Did you know that acne breakouts can be caused by talking too much on a cellular phone? Oil and skin residue from your face and hair stay on your phone. Next time you use it, those impurities are deposited right back on your face. Clean your phone often to keep it from clogging your pores. Be sure not to allow the telephone to touch your face as you chat.

Avoid mixing different acne treatments together. In a panic, some people decide to aggregate topical acne treatments in the hope that they will work effectively together. Acne creams have different chemicals that may interact and damage your skin if they are mixed together.

If you are dealing with acne, wash all of your towels, sheets, and pillow cases frequently. These items can all harbor bacteria when dirty, and bacteria is a primary cause of clogged pores and breakouts. Wearing clothing too long between washes can also allow bacteria to grow, so stick to a regular laundry routine.

As spelled out here, acne is not exclusively a teenage problem. It may also affect a person well into their adult years. You have read a lot of information about acne, and now that you understand it, you can start a skin care regime that will help to minimize the effects and get your acne under control once and for all.
